Productivity tools are an amazing technology tool which I have just been introduced to in this class. The possibilities are endless and best of all, they are free. A nice feature in working with your colleagues is the fact that you can end the trading of emails with attachments when working long distance. I reflect on our group assignment for this class and this tool would have definitely made it easier. It makes it easier to keep track of the most current version of the file very easily. Working with a partner teacher would become easier and more efficient when collaborating on lesson plans and activities. Administrators can use this tool as an ongoing assessment with feedback input from the teachers. Planning presentations and workshops also is more efficient in team assignments. The best part of the use of these productivity tools for students and teachers is that they are free. Many households might not be able to purchase the commercial products, but can have access to the same tools just with an internet connection. This would certainly cancel any doubts or concerns parents had about making technology use affordable. Students can collaborate on various activities across the subjects through use of these tools. Writing assignments especially can be assigned to groups or individuals and the teacher can guide and help students organize, revise, and edit their writings. Students working on a collaborative project at the same time will benefit from being able to each use their own computer instead of having to share only one computer. Teachers can open up an incredible amount of ideas for their students by beginning to explore productivity tools.
